 What is Yuk to Kids?

Yuk to Kids was an idea that came straight from my son, Ayden, during a recent holiday when he decided to help with the laundry. While helping, he asked if he could have a drink of what I was holding. He thought it was cordial. It was fabric softener! This could happen to any of our little kids!

This inspired us to create Yuk to Kids and focus on current child safety warnings.

What do I do when I feel Yuk?

It is great to talk to the right people. Talk to your mum, dad, grandparents, and even your friends. Some people like to talk to their teachers, some people talk to their hairdresser. Also, have a chat with us-send us an email.... because with help from our friends, we can all help each other.

Tell us  more about Yuk to Kids...

  • Yuk to Kids is a language that our young children understand.
  • Before children can read or understand the dangers of products our natural reaction is to say that it is "Yukky".
  • Yukky means in simple terms that it is dangerous to ingest the item or product, and that it can make you very sick.
  • A simple logo that kids will recognize is the answer.
  • Our intention is that this logo will not deter consumers to avoid using any product - but make them aware of potential dangers.
  • Yuk to Kids is also targeting what can also be unsafe for kids, and this could also be physical and/or environmental.
